Lynn's POV

"They used tranquilizer," I say. My voice is flat. Distant. "Not wolfsbane. Because wolfsbane would have been obvious. But tranquilizer—it wears off. Makes it look real. Makes it look like I wanted—"

I can't finish. Can't say the words.

"I know." Greyson's hands tighten on the steering wheel. His knuckles go white. "I know what they were planning. What they were going to do to you."

His voice breaks on the last word.

"They'll pay," he says. Quiet. ...
