I sit in my office, staring at the jewelry design I abandoned earlier.

The sketch mocks me—incomplete, like everything else in my life right now.

'We need to decide,' Istha says. 'About the pack offers.'

"I know."

Ice Moon Pack. Blue Moon Pack. Both offering sanctuary and protection. Both wanting to meet my children, assess their potential, integrate them into pack structures I've spent five years avoiding.
