Erikson delivered the report the way he delivered everything uncomfortable — standing still, voice level, eyes on me the whole time so I couldn't pretend I'd missed anything.

Lynn had said it herself, apparently. Not in passing. Directly, clearly, in the way she said things when she'd already decided where she stood.

Timothy's punishment had been too light.

"Those were her words?" I asked.
