Damon's POV

The road home felt longer than it should have. Maybe it was because I couldn't stop glancing at her.

Aria sat in the passenger seat, her body turned slightly toward the window. She hadn't said a word since we left the cabin. The baby...tiny, fragile, wrapped in one of my old shirts...slept in her arms. The only sound in the car was the soft hum of the engine and the baby's uneven breathing.

Her hands were trembling. I saw it every time the headlights flashed across her fingers.
