I awoke, gasping and trying to catch my breath. Instinctively, I put a hand on my stomach and was relieved to find that it wasn’t swollen with pregnancy. I gave a long, shaky breath and turned to find Tristan fast asleep next to me. I was surprised that my stirring hadn’t woken him up.
