I lay on my bed staring up at the plaster ceiling. Jenna sits on the floor beside me, both of us not speaking.

In my mind, I’m reeling in total and complete agony. How could I let this happen? I told myself I would NEVER fulfill the Bonding with Logan so he wouldn’t get hurt. And now just that very thing has happened, and it’s all my fault. I should never have let him leave that morning.
