Carmen’s POV

I don’t know exactly what time it was but it was that time just before morning when the sky was still dark but not really dark anymore. The kind of darkness that makes everything look tired. I hadn’t slept at all. Not even for one second. My eyes were burning but my body refused to lie down properly because every time I tried, my heart would start beating too fast like it was warning me that something bad will happen if I close my eyes.
