I step closer to the torture rack, making sure he can see my face clearly. "Let me explain your situation. First, your commander controls you. He won't let you have the freedom to pursue personal vengeance. Even if he wins, even if the rogues take territory—he'll never risk his position by letting you go after Ryan."
