“Remy, please,” I whisper, but there’s no answer, just that faint hum through the bond, thin and fraying.

Callen turns to me, urgency written across every line of his face. “Paige, take Jax.” He tries to hand him over, voice rough. “Run with Poppy and Jake. Now. Don’t look back.”
