John picked Rhiannon up the day after her shopping trip. It felt strange. She hadn't demanded cash before she left; when he asked for her Venmo, she had told him no. He wanted to treat her to something nice, he wanted to spoil her.

That was fine.

He had done some shopping of his own while she was gone. He would treat her to something very nice, he just needed the opportunity to give it to her.
