Betty's POV. 

Before Damien could step out and close the distance with Alpha Xavier, I acted on pure instinct.

I grabbed Damien’s arm, fingers digging into his sleeve as the same faint light from before surged beneath my skin, rising without warning. 

“Betty, wait!”

The world snapped white.

Then, everything collapsed inward, folding and twisting.
