The message.

Betty's POV. 

He set me down on his bed, I realised it from the familiar scent of the blankets, with a gentleness that seemed at odds with the tension still radiating from every line of his body.

I sat there, watching him move to close the tent flap, creating a barrier between us and the rest of the camp. 

The sudden privacy felt both comforting and terrifying. 

Because now there was nothing between us and the conversation I wasn't sure I was ready to have.
