Claire’s POV. 

Alpha Damien cleared his throat and spoke again. His voice was firm but calm. 

He reminded Alpha Xavier of the rules, and Alpha Xavier nodded without arguing as his face was serious but peaceful.

Just as he turned to leave, he paused by the door and looked my way. “Claire,” he said, his tone lighter now, “would you join me for an evening walk later?”

I blinked, surprised. For a second, I wasn’t sure I heard him right.
