Betty's POV:

The moment he got close enough, Alpha Damien swam straight toward me with slow, deliberate strokes.

Then he stopped right in front of me.

Before I could breathe, his hands came up and he placed them on the pool ledge,  one on each side of me.

Effectively trapped me between his arms.

My heart forgot how to function.

He stood so close I could feel the warmth of his body radiating through the water. 

Droplets slid down his chest, catching the dim pool lights like tiny stars. ...
