Betty's POV. 

Claire’s body hit the floor with a soft, broken sound.

My breath caught.

Instinct took over and I moved very fast, ready to reach her, but Beta Mason was quicker. 

He dropped to his knees beside her, checking her pulse with trembling hands.

“She’s breathing,” he muttered more to himself than to anyone else.

Relief washed through me, but fear still coiled tight in my chest.

Damien signalled two warriors, and they helped Mason lift her carefully.
