Betty's POV.

Beta Mason rushed over and slipped his arm under Alpha Damien’s shoulder, and together we carried him to his chambers. 

His arm was heavy over my shoulder, his steps dragging like every breath hurt.

Inside, the room was dim, lit only by the glow of the fireplace. 

He sank onto the bed, his breathing uneven, between pauses and shudders.

He spoke of the curse, how it twists through memories, feeding on grief until it’s too much to bear.
