Maya grabbed my arm the second we walked into the players’ lounge.

“I made it,” she said, like she was reporting a personal victory. “I actually made it to a game.”

“You made it,” I confirmed, laughing.

Maya grinned. “I’m glad you told me to fight Adrian for the good seat.”

“I told you it was worth it.”

“I heard that,” Adrian said from directly behind us.

Maya glanced over her shoulder.

“Good.”
