Elena's POV

"You have exactly four minutes before the board meeting starts, and you haven't even looked at the agenda."

I glanced up from my laptop to find my assistant, Patricia, standing in my doorway, hands on her hips, looking like she wanted to strangle me.

"I'm working on it," I lied, eyes already back on my screen.

"You're reading emails from two weeks ago."

She wasn't wrong but I didn't need her pointing it out.
