Nadir shifted and grabbed me by the throat with his mouth, making it impossible to break free. I half-expected him to choke me to death, or else, feed me to the wolves.

I desired at least a reason or explanation for all the darkness but the haunting was so utterly morbid that I wondered to myself if maybe I was darker and more enchanting than I ever would have dared to dream.
