I received a call early this morning from Nanay Tasing. She updated me about the renovations I commissioned back in Zambales. She said they were almost finished. The news made me unexpectedly happy, enough that I decided I’d return to Zambales first thing tomorrow.

But as soon as I hung up, the last scene I had with Faith flashed in my mind. Even now, the guilt lingered—heavy and stubborn. It’s fine, I told myself. I’ll apologize when I see her again.
