But Julian tightened his grip on her. “Don’t even think about it,” he said under his breath, dragging her backward.

“Let me go, Julian!” she shrieked. “Let me go this instant! Did you hear what she said?!”

“I heard,” he muttered. “And you’re still leaving.”

He pulled the door open and dragged her out of the room as she kicked and screamed out loud. Before he or she could blurt anything out-I slammed that door so hard the whole room shook.
