Jeremiah was on the ground, laying on his back in the courtyard, surrounded by holes and pockmarks made by his cords and wires, panting. Sargon sat against one of the walls of the courtyard, leaning back against it in a similar state, breathing heavily. Both of them showed signs of being scratched up, bruised and beaten.
