Chapter 0029

Leaf Gray stared fixedly at the back of his hand for a long time before finally snapping back to reality.

Recalling everything that had happened before, the thing on the back of his hand was undoubtedly related to the Sect Master stamping it with that large seal.

He didn't know what this was exactly, but there were too many things in this world that he didn't know. The unknown wasn't necessarily frightening; now, he could only face it calmly.

The good news, however, was that he had confirmed his location. He was indeed within the Spirit Creek Battlefield.

Just seeing the prefix of this battlefield made Leaf Gray feel a sense of foreboding. If he wasn't mistaken, this was a battlefield only those of the Spirit Creek Realm were qualified to set foot in.

For a minor cultivator like him, who had only opened three apertures, being in this unfamiliar place was undoubtedly fraught with danger everywhere. Earlier, he had only encountered a pack of wolves; what if he encountered a group of cultivators?

Since it was a battlefield, there were definitely cultivators present!

As for the two sides fighting in this battlefield, it went without saying that they were The Firmament Palace and The Ophidian Covenant.

He could understand the Sect Master's original intention in sending him here. Given the situation at the time, the Sect Master couldn't possibly fight others while carrying him along. If they had forced a fight, a minor cultivator like him would certainly have met a tragic end. Sending him into this place was the Sect Master's helpless choice, attempting to carve out a single path of life amidst certain death.

It seemed like the Sect Master had also stuffed something into his embrace earlier.

Thinking of this, Leaf Gray quickly checked.

He soon found a storage bag. He opened it and pulled out several bottles, some stacks of what looked like talisman paper, several sets of clothes, and finally, a jade slip.

He checked them one by one.

The bottles contained only two types of spirit pills: Vermillion Dawn Pills and Spirit Nurturing Pills. Among them, the Spirit Nurturing Pills were more numerous, about twenty pills across two bottles. The Vermillion Dawn Pills were fewer, less than ten pills in a single bottle.

As for the talisman paper, he had never seen it before, but he could vaguely guess what they were.

Sure enough, upon inspection, he found they were spirit talismans.

Among external cultivators, some specialized in drawing talismans. Spirit talismans could assist cultivators in battle or cultivation. However, Leaf Gray had never had access to these before, so naturally, he hadn't seen them.

The storage bag contained a variety of spirit talismans: there were Vajra Talismans for defense, Fire Snake Talismans for attack, as well as utility talismans like the Breath-Concealing Talisman and the Shadow-Folding Talisman for hiding one's tracks. Each talisman was clearly labeled with its use, as if afraid Leaf Gray wouldn’t understand. There were over thirty talismans in total.

Looking at these items, a warmth surged in Leaf Gray's heart.

Without a doubt, these things were specially prepared for him by the Sect Master. Because whether it was the spirit pills or the spirit talismans before him, they were only suitable for cultivators at Leaf Gray's level; the Sect Master had no use for them at all.

As for the clothes, that was even more obvious. these were clearly garments suited for a young man.

Recalling the few days the Sect Master had disappeared on the Flying Dragon Ship, Leaf Gray understood that it must have been during those days that the Sect Master gathered these suitable items from disciples of other sects.

Perhaps the Sect Master had planned to give them to him after returning to The Verdant Peaks, but after encountering that tragedy halfway, he had to hand them over early.

For someone who had just begun cultivating, these items were undoubtedly a huge fortune. Not to mention the bottles of spirit pills, even those spirit talismans felt immensely valuable to Leaf Gray.

After all, he hadn't found any spirit talismans at all in Manager Miller's and Ryan Carter's storage bages. This showed that spirit talismans should be quite valuable. Yet the Sect Master had gathered over thirty of them at once, with various uses.

Taking a soft breath, Leaf Gray put the items away properly and picked up the jade slip.

If he wasn't mistaken, this jade slip should be the one the Sect Master took out while carrying him during their escape. At that time, the Sect Master had asked him if he had heard of the Spirit Creek Battlefield. Leaf Gray replied that he hadn't, so the Sect Master took out a jade slip and pressed it against his forehead.

This jade slip probably contained some information the Sect Master intended to leave for him. The situation was urgent then, and the Sect Master didn't have time to explain, so he could only convey it this way.

Leaf Gray channeled his spiritual power, pouring it into the jade slip, but there was no reaction, which puzzled him.

After thinking for a moment, he imitated the Sect Master's action, pressing the jade slip against his forehead, and channeled his spiritual power again.

This time, a flood of information rushed into his mind, causing his spirit to sway dizzily for a moment.

A short while later, he put down the jade slip, his expression complex.

The jade slip indeed contained some information left for him by the Sect Master, specifically about the Spirit Creek Battlefield.

The Novem Lands is a world composed of nine great continents. However, the world of The Novem Lands isn't limited to just these nine continents; besides these nine continents, there are other spaces.

The Spirit Creek Battlefield is one of them.

Where exactly the Spirit Creek Battlefield is located within the world of The Novem Lands is unknown. There had been Divine Sea Realm cultivators who wanted to explore this mystery, but over countless years, no one had obtained any useful clues, and the matter was eventually dropped.

The conflict between The Firmament Palace and The Ophidian Covenant isn't limited to the world of The Novem Lands; the most intense fighting occurs in these spatial battlefields.

To enter the Spirit Creek Battlefield, one must utilize the Providentia Pillar – the crystal pillar Leaf Gray had seen before.

Every sect has one of these. Even if a sect is destroyed, its Providentia Pillar is preserved. Over these countless years, countless sects in The Novem Lands world have been destroyed, so Providentia Pillars scattered in the wild are as numerous as the stars.

After cultivators from various sects enter the Spirit Creek Battlefield through their own sect's Providentia Pillar, they appear in a fixed territory. This territory is usually developed by the sect into their stronghold within the battlefield, constantly garrisoned by powerful cultivators to prevent sneak attacks.

However, if a cultivator doesn't enter the battlefield through their own sect's Providentia Pillar, they will randomly appear somewhere in the battlefield.

Therefore, generally speaking, cultivators enter the battlefield through their own sect's Providentia Pillar and seldom use those of other sects, unless they have obtained that sect's recognition and received a specific seal imprint. Only then can they appear in that sect's stronghold.

Given the situation Leaf Gray and the Sect Master encountered at the time, the Sect Master had no other choices. Even though he knew sending Leaf Gray into the Spirit Creek Battlefield was extremely risky, he had no choice but to gamble.

After examining the information in the jade slip, Leaf Gray understood his situation clearly.

He was now located somewhere within the Spirit Creek Battlefield. As for exactly where, he didn't know, because the entire Spirit Creek Battlefield was extremely vast, as large as an entire continent.

The invisible thing on the back of his hand was the Battlefield Mark. Every cultivator who enters the battlefield has one, recording their origin, cultivation level, and merits.

This mark was also related to his way out.

His Battlefield Mark was stamped by the Sect Master using The Vermilion Guild's Sect Master Seal. Consequently, this mark had a connection to the Providentia Pillar at The Vermilion Guild's stronghold. As long as he followed this connection, Leaf Gray could make his way to The Vermilion Guild's stronghold in the Spirit Creek Battlefield. Once there, he would be able to return to The Vermilion Guild!
