I didn’t wake up right away.

I just… floated.

Like my body wasn’t mine anymore, like maybe I had died and nobody told me yet, because why else would everything be this heavy and quiet except for the way my head was screaming? Except for the way my chest hurt like my heart didn’t know whether to beat or just give up completely?
