Kira blinked, her eyes still on the woman before her as the word echoed in her mind.

Elves.

It wasn't shock she felt or surprise; it was something else entirely. Something like a sense of awe, as if she was now inside one of those many stories she had heard as a child. It was a reality she had never thought would exist, and she had never thought she would ever witness.

"Elves?" Kira repeated, her eyes running over the woman's features, as if she had not gotten enough of that earlier.

"Yes, ...
