Lucky

The smile on my husband's face turned into a worried look.

"Did something happen at Mix?" Daon asked.

"No, I just need to talk to you," Jayden replied.

"Is it serious?" Daon inquired.

"You'll know as soon as we talk," Jayden said.

My breathing was labored, my heart was pounding so hard it felt like it would burst from my chest, and I felt a chill in my stomach that seemed to freeze my soul. My whole body was trembling, and I wanted to start crying right then and there.

"Alright, in that case, I'll put on some clothes and be right back," Daon said.

"Okay, I'll wait here," Jayden responded.

Daon went back upstairs, and a tear fell down my cheek.

"Jayden, for God's sake, don't do this to me. Please don't tell Daon," I pleaded.

"You're not leaving me any choice," Jayden said.

The tears now streamed down my face, and he approached me, wiping them away as desperation took over me.

"It's up to you," he said mockingly, and I felt the urge to punch him.

"You're such a jerk!" I exclaimed.

"I'm the jerk you slept with twice in a nightclub bathroom. Isn't that all I am to you?" Jayden taunted.

"What do you want?" I demanded.

"I want to talk to you and move on. I guarantee it won't take long. After all, I never stay with the same woman twice," Jayden stated.

"This is crazy, Jayden!" I protested.

"Or I can tell Daon everything," Jayden threatened.

"Jayden, please, I'm begging you!" I implored.

"Just like I begged you to meet with me to talk and you refused. I told you I couldn't stop thinking about you, and you threw it in my face that I meant nothing to you, that I was just another one. So now you'll meet with me to talk, and then you can be all Daon's," Jayden demanded.

"Jayden!" I pleaded.

Daon came down the stairs, and I whispered to Jayden.

"Fine, but please don't tell him," I said.

"Alright, I'm here! What's going on?" Daon asked.

I heard the doorbell ring, and this time it was really the delivery guy with the fried chicken we had ordered. I received it, my hands trembling.

"Sit down, eat with us," Daon invited Jayden.

They sat on the floor around the coffee table. I got another plate and glass, joining them at the table. We started eating, and I could tell Daon was apprehensive.

"So, what was so urgent it couldn't wait until tomorrow?" Daon asked.

Jayden looked at me, and if my eyes could speak, they would be begging him not to say anything.

"Well, Simon came to me today saying he doesn't want to be the CEO of Mix anymore," Jayden said.

My entire body relaxed, and I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding.

"What? Why?" Daon asked, surprised.

"He said he was so overwhelmed he didn't have time for his family. Chae cried this week, saying she hardly saw her uncle anymore, and that destabilized him completely," Jayden explained.

"I can imagine," Daon said.

"So, since I can't do it alone, you know I haven't had time for anything. I was thinking about who could take this position, and I could only think of you. You're my best friend, and you've been working with me for over thirteen years. I wouldn't be where I am today without your help all these years, and I wanted to know if you'd accept," Jayden asked.

Daon's face lit up, and I could see he was moved.

"Wow! Are you serious?" Daon exclaimed.

"Of course, brother. I couldn't think of anyone better for the job," Jayden affirmed.

"I don't even know what to say," Daon responded.

"Say yes!" Jayden encouraged.

"Well, it's a lot of responsibility," Daon said.

"Yes, and there's more. Simon and I have been discussing this for a while, and we think it's time for you to have a solo album," Jayden revealed.

"Are you serious?" Daon asked, excited.

"Yes, I know it's been a long time coming, but I think it's time," Jayden confirmed.

Daon was smiling like a child, his eyes filled with tears.

"Wow, I don't even know how to thank you," Daon said.

"You don't need to. You've worked so hard all these years. You produced my biggest hit that opened countless doors for me. It became a milestone in Korean music, all thanks to you," Jayden praised.

"Man, you're going to make me cry," Daon said, getting up to hug Jayden.

Jayden looked at me, and at that moment, he seemed to feel as much guilt as I did.

"I promise to work hard to live up to the trust you have in me," Daon declared.

"Does that mean you accept being one of the CEOs of Mix?" Jayden asked.

"Well, about that, I'm not sure yet," Daon said.

He sat down next to me and held my hand.

"I'm newly married, and I don't know if I'd feel right leaving my wife alone so much. This is a decision we need to make together as a couple. So, I need time to talk to Lyane and make a decision," Daon explained.

I squeezed his hand tighter, my heart warming at him including me in every decision of his life.

"Love, you don't need to worry about me. This is a result of your hard work all these years, and I would be very sad to think you'd give up an opportunity like this because of me," I reassured him.

"But love, I’ll hardly have any time to spend with you, and I'll have to travel a lot. Recording an album means there will be nights I'll be up all night recording," Daon worried.

"Love, staying up all night is temporary. Just until you finish the album. Our marriage is forever!" I said.

He smiled, lighting up the room and melting my heart.

"We'll have time to be together for the rest of our lives. So, if it's because of me that you don't want to accept, don't worry. I love you, and I'll always be by your side!" I declared.

He kissed me gently but so sweetly, so full of love, that I wished we were alone to show him how much I loved him too.

"You're wonderful, you know that? Thank you for being so understanding! I love you!" Daon said.

"I love you too, love!" I replied.

He kissed my forehead, and we turned back to Jayden, who looked downcast and sad.

"Well, if my wife agrees, then it will be an honor to be the CEO of this company I love so much," Daon said.

He hugged Jayden again, and they shook hands.

"This calls for a celebration! I'll get some beers from the fridge so we can toast!" Daon announced.

He went to the kitchen to get the beers, leaving me and Jayden staring at each other.

"Don't look at me like that!" I snapped.

"Like what?" Jayden retorted.

"Like you're judging me," I said.

"I'm doing all this out of guilt?" Jayden asked.

"No! I'm too professional to mess around with the company I spent years building. I'm doing this because he deserves it!" Jayden stated firmly.

His tone was sincere, and I felt he was being honest.

"Tomorrow at two in the afternoon, when Daon is in a meeting, I'll come to get you so we can talk," Jayden declared.

"Alright! I'll go, but know that I'm only going because you're blackmailing me," I said.

He gave a small smile, and I was furious with him. Daon returned with the beers, and soon we were toasting and eating fried chicken in celebration. They started reminiscing about the past, and I learned many hilarious stories about them, as well as many moments of hardship when they thought about giving up on Mix. They really seemed like close friends, and I kept wondering how Jayden could betray such a long-standing friendship just for sex. After a few beers, Jayden decided to leave, and I went to the kitchen to wash the dishes. I felt Daon hugging me from behind and kissing my neck.

"I'm so happy... I never thought I could be this happy in life!" Daon exclaimed.

My heart broke, and I felt like crying. He turned me to him, kissing me intensely, and I savored the sweet taste of his lips.

"Come, let's go to the bedroom!" Daon suggested.

I smiled at his excitement and spoke playfully.

"But love, I need to finish washing the dishes," I protested.

"Ah, leave that for later. Now I want to make love to my wife," he said.

He picked me up bridal style, and I started laughing as he carried me.

"Love, the gloves," I said, raising

my hands to show the yellow rubber gloves I was wearing to wash the dishes. He carried me to the sink while I took off the gloves and threw them on the counter. We laughed, and he carried me upstairs to the bedroom. Once there, he put me down, undressing me as we kissed intensely, his hands exploring my body. I took off his shirt, revealing his defined chest, and kissed my way down his neck to his abdomen. I knelt in front of him, making him smile at my eagerness. I pulled down his pants, revealing his already hard member, and relished the sight of his pleasure-filled expression as I took him into my mouth.

"So beautiful..." Daon murmured, stroking my face as I sucked him harder, making him squirm with desire. He helped me up and, when he was about to lay me down on the bed, I laid him down first, positioning his member at my entrance, which was wet and eager for him.

"Oh, love... So good..." I moaned.

I began to move, gyrating on his member, feeling him fill me completely. He used one arm to hug my waist, pulling me close, and with the other hand, he entwined our fingers, meeting my movements with a slow but delicious rhythm that made me delirious. Our connection was indescribable, and our moans combined into a symphony that filled the room. Our intertwined hands and our mouths that couldn't stay apart, even when we were out of breath, seemed to constantly express our love, even if we weren't saying it out loud.

"Ah, love, this feels so good..." I increased the speed of my gyrations and began to bounce on his cock, tightening as I came down, feeling him lose control beneath me.

"Love... Love... At this rate, I'm going to..." Daon warned.

I began to bounce harder, and my entire body exploded in an intense orgasm, making my legs weak. I felt him release inside me, and he kissed me deeply, covering my face with kisses before pulling out.

"I love you," he said, looking into my eyes and smiling, still breathless.

"I love you too," I replied.

We lay down, and I rested on his chest, feeling his heart still racing. At that moment, I felt so comfortable and loved as he gently stroked my back, moving his fingers up and down. For a few moments, I could forget everything else. At that moment, I was just his, and he was just mine. After a while, we fell asleep in each other's arms, and I woke up in the morning to him showering me with kisses, already fresh from his bath. I pulled him to me, feeling his cold skin against my warm skin, causing a pleasant sensation.

"It's so nice to wake up like this," I said.

"Is it? I'm glad you like it because I want to wake you up like this every day," he said.

"How lucky I am!" I replied.

"I'm the lucky one, having a princess like you in my life," he said, kissing me multiple times. Then he got off me, revealing a breakfast tray he had prepared for me.

"Oh, love!" I exclaimed.

"I wanted to do this for you because I know from today onwards, I'll be very busy, but I never want you to feel neglected. I want you to always know how much I love you and never forget it, not even for a minute," Daon said.

My eyes filled with tears, and I wanted to hug and shower him with kisses, which I did. Then we had breakfast in bed, and he left early because he had a busy day. I spent the morning organizing some things that were out of place from the day before and doing laundry. I was distracted when the landline phone started ringing, and it took me a few minutes to find it since I wasn't used to having a landline and hadn't noticed we had one.

"Hello?" I answered.

I immediately heard the last voice I wanted to hear, making my stomach churn with anxiety.

"Are you ready?" Jayden asked.

"You said two o'clock," I replied.

"Ah... I guess I was a bit anxious. I'm already here at the door," Jayden said.

"Then you'll wait because I haven't even taken a shower yet," I said rudely, hearing his smile over the phone.

"Alright, I'm waiting in the car," he said.
