It didn’t take long for us to end up in bed again, but this time we forgot to use protection and couldn’t control ourselves. Part of that was my fault too, but I needed to take it out on someone, I needed to blame Jayden for pursuing me and confessing his feelings, making me lose my mind every time I saw him.
"Jayden! I can’t believe this," I said, incredulous.
He smiled, and I slapped his face when he let me go, which made him smile even more.
"Don’t you take any birth control pills?" Jayden asked, worried.
"No, you idiot!" I replied, irritated.
He tried to comfort me with a hug, but I just rolled my eyes.
"Let go of me!" I screamed, trying to pull away.
I was so angry that I ended up scratching his neck and even the side of his face.
"Jane!" Jayden exclaimed, surprised.
He finally let me go, and I picked up my clothes from the floor of the room, headed to the bathroom and slammed the door. I turned on the shower and let the water run over my body while tears streamed down my face. A whirlwind of emotions invaded me, and it felt like I was letting out everything I’d been feeling these past few days. I scrubbed my entire body with soap, feeling dirty. I heard a knock on the door and simply ignored it.
"Jane?" Jayden called, hesitantly.
His voice was low, hesitant. He came in, and I turned my back, trying to hide that I was crying, but my sobs gave me away. He came up to me, stepping under the shower, and turned me to face him gently.
"Jane, are you crying?" Jayden asked, concerned.
His voice was sweet, but it only made me want to cry even more.
"Look, I’m sorry, I was an idiot! If you want, we can go to the pharmacy and buy one of those emergency pills," he suggested, trying to calm me down.
He stroked my face and pulled me into his chest, hugging me tightly.
"Please, don’t cry," Jayden pleaded, tenderly.
The more he tried to calm me, the more I cried.
"I promise I’ll never forget again," he said sincerely.
I looked at him, and his eyes seemed to reflect all his guilt.
"I know you won’t do that again. Because I’ll never let you touch me again!" I said coldly.
I could see the sadness in his eyes.
"Jane!" Jayden exclaimed, hurt.
I left the bathroom, leaving him there, dried myself, and got dressed. I was ready to leave the room when he came in again.
"Jane, I know what I did was wrong." Jayden started, regretful.
I walked to the door of the room, completely ignoring what he was saying, and he came up to me, standing in front of me without touching me.
"Where are you going? Wait for me to get dressed!" Jayden asked, trying to stop me from leaving.
I tried to leave again, and he stood in front of the door.
"Wait, Jane, we need to talk," he insisted, worried.
I remained silent, trying to leave while controlling my sobs, but he wouldn’t let me.
"Stop, Jane! Are you going to leave like that? I’ll take you home," he said, trying to calm the situation.
"I don’t want to go anywhere with you!" I replied, irritated.
"Look, I’m sorry, I didn’t know this would upset you so much. I can’t control myself when I’m near you, and I end up doing something stupid. I’m sorry," Jayden pleaded, desperately.
"Well, from today on, that problem is over, I’ll never go near you again!" I said, determined.
"Jane, please, if you leave like this, the paparazzi might see you. You’re married to a famous man now," Jayden warned, worried.
That possibility scared me, and I sat on the bed, waiting for him to get dressed. When he finished, he came up to me, holding my face in his hands and trying to kiss me, but I turned away.
"Please, forgive me," Jayden repeated, his eyes full of regret.
I ignored him, but he continued.
"What can I do for you to forgive me?" he asked, desperate.
I couldn’t even look at him until I noticed the tone of his voice change and became tremulous.
"Don’t ignore me. Argue with me, but don’t say you won’t come near me again," Jayden pleaded, with tears in his eyes.
When I looked at him, I saw that his face was red, and a few tears were streaming down it.
"Look, only after I did it did I realize how wrong it was, and I’m so sorry. You make me confused, and I feel things I’m not used to feeling when I’m with you," Jayden confessed, sincerely.
He knelt in front of the bed, laying his head on my lap and hugging my body.
"Please, forgive me! I’m begging you on my knees. I’ve never done this for any woman," he said, his voice breaking.
The tears streaming down his handsome face told me he was being sincere, but I was very hurt.
"Look, you might not believe it, but I’m really in love with you, and I get angry when you say you only love Daon because I know you feel something for me. That’s why I did what I did, I wasn’t thinking straight, I just wanted to feel, even for a moment, that you were mine," Jayden explained, desperately.
He started to kiss me, and I ended up giving in. When he pulled away, I saw that his face was as red as mine.
"Do you forgive me?" Jayden asked, hopefully.
"Please, just take me home. I want to go home," I replied, still hurt.
He seemed lost but agreed. We left, heading to the car, and he opened the door for me to get in. He walked around the car and soon left, heading to my house.
"We need to stop at the pharmacy," I said, still tense.
"Okay," Jayden replied, agreeing.
After some time driving, he parked in front of a pharmacy.
"Do you want anything besides the medicine?" he asked, gently.
"No," I replied, unenthusiastic.
He went into the pharmacy while I stayed in the car, waiting and reflecting on everything that had happened. He came back some time later with a bag and handed it to me. When I opened it, I saw the medicine, a bottle of water, and a chocolate bar. I looked at him, seeking answers, and he looked at me with affection.
"Chocolate always makes me feel better, so I thought you’d like it," Jayden said, with a shy smile.
He seemed to be sincere, and this sensitive side of him was softening me. I took the medicine and opened the chocolate bar, taking a piece and putting it in my mouth. I offered some to him, and he leaned in, kissing me tenderly.
"Do you forgive me?" Jayden asked, hopefully.
I didn’t know how to handle his duality. One moment, he seemed like a man without feelings, treating me like trash, and now he was looking at me with his slanted eyes full of regret, like a child asking for forgiveness. I nodded, and he leaned in, kissing me again.
He dropped me off at home, and I rushed to get ready as I was going out with Daon. I took a good shower, dried my hair, brushed it, and covered all the marks Jayden had left on my body with makeup. When I was putting on the high-heeled sandals I was going to wear, Daon arrived.
"Love?" Daon called, sweetly.
"Hi, darling, I’m here in the bedroom!" I replied, trying to sound normal.
I was still sensitive, and hearing him call me love made me want to cry. When he entered the bedroom, he smiled beautifully at me and looked me up and down, seeming to approve of my appearance.
"Love, you look stunning!" Daon said, admiring.
"Thank you!" I replied, with a smile.
"But something’s missing," Daon said, mysteriously.
"What?" I asked, curious.
He was hiding a small light blue bag and handed it to me, smiling. When I opened it, I saw a small velvet box containing a pair of diamond earrings and a necklace. They were beautiful, and he knew my taste well because it was something I would have chosen for myself. Not too big or too flashy. When I looked at him, his smile now took over his face, and he seemed so happy that, despite wanting to cry, I gave him the best smile I could.
"They’re beautiful, my love! You didn’t have to!" I said, emotional.
He turned me around, delicately putting the necklace around my neck.
"I know, but you’ve been so wonderful to me from day one, and all the support you gave me yesterday, encouraging me to take the job even knowing I’ll be busier and have less time for you, made me want to give you a gift. I want you to have everything you want, you’re my princess, and I always want you to know how much I love you. Every time you look at these diamonds, remember my love for you," Daon said, tenderly.
He kissed me, and I reciprocated with all my love. I didn’t deserve him, and when I realized it, I was already crying while holding onto him.
"What’s wrong, my love?" Daon asked, worried.
"I just got emotional. I love you so much too! Please, never doubt that," I said, trying to control myself.
"Hey! Don’t cry, I always want to make you happy and see that beautiful smile I love on your face. Today is a day of joy and dancing until we drop. You, not me, because I can’t handle that," Daon said, joking.
He put his hand on his back and started to lower himself.
"See? I can’t do it!" he said, laughing.
I started to laugh, and he kissed me again.
"That’s it! That smile right there is what I want! Tonight we’re going to laugh a lot because Simon talked about dancing all night, and I just want to see Simon looking like a worm trying to dance," Daon said, excited.
I imagined the scene and laughed even more.
"Who else is going?" I asked, curious.
"Hoshi, Jina, Haon, whom you haven’t met yet, and Jayden, but we don’t need to worry about him because he’ll be well entertained." Daon replied, thoughtfully.
"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.
"Leehi is also going, and ever since she joined Mix, Jayden has been doing everything to try to get with her. So he’ll be very busy hitting on her all the time," Daon explained, casually.
I was speechless, and he shrugged.
"I think she’s going because of him, too, because only when she knew he was going did she decide to go. Poor girl. She doesn’t know what a mistake she’s making," Daon said, worried.
He seemed strange for a second, as if a thought had crossed his mind, and he didn’t know how to tell me.
"And Louyse will also be there," Daon added, hesitantly.
"Who’s that?" I asked, intrigued.
He sat on the bed and ran his hands over his face, as if looking for an explanation.
"So, I don’t want to lie to you or have you find out from someone else. Louyse is one of the rappers from Mix, and everyone knows she always liked me. Before I traveled to the United States, I even thought there was a vibe between us, and we almost hooked up, but we’re both shy, and nothing happened. When I met you, obviously, all that stayed in the past, and I want you to know that you don’t need to worry about it. You’re my wife, and it’s you that I love. That’s in the past, and you’re my present and future," Daon explained sincerely.
Seeing him walking on eggshells to explain showed how much he cared about my feelings and how sincere he was with me.
"Love, I trust you, I know you’d never do anything to hurt me," I said, reassuring him.
He visibly relaxed, and I realized that this must have been tormenting him all day. He kissed me again before going to the bathroom to shower. I looked at myself in the mirror, trying to prepare for everything that might happen that night. After all, I would have to see Jayden hitting on another girl in front of me while being in the same environment as a woman who was in love with my husband too... What surprises does this night hold for me?
