Feelings

Jayden Park

I didn't know the answer to any of these questions, and hearing this from Daon made it even worse because I was sure he knew the answers.

"I don't know," I confessed, looking down.

"Then you're not in love. When you love someone, you want to know everything," Daon concluded.

"He's right. I even knew the exact days of the month my ex would get her period," Simon added.

Talking to them only made me feel worse. I couldn't stop thinking about how I really didn't know anything about her. Maybe they were right.

"Think about it carefully. I'm sure you'll realize you're not in love," Daon advised with a smile.

"Yeah. Maybe you guys are right," I admitted reluctantly.

"Why don't you give Leeji a chance? When we mentioned Daon's celebration today, she didn't want to come, but when we said you were coming, she got all excited," Daon suggested enthusiastically.

Leeji was one of Mix's rising stars. Besides being very talented, she was beautiful and fit all the Korean beauty standards, which was why she was becoming so popular.

"Yeah, take this night off from that woman and try to get to know Leeji better," Simon encouraged, and I sighed, spinning in my chair.

"I don't even know how to do that," I confessed, shrugging.

"Just ask her. Ask what she likes to do, what kind of music she likes. Then watch the magic happen. Women love to talk," Simon advised.

"Yeah, I'll try," I agreed, feeling downcast.

"I'm honestly worried. This will be the first time Louise and Jane are in the same place," Daon commented, frowning.

"True," I said, excited for a moment as a possibility crossed my mind, but that would be too cruel to Louise, and I didn't think I was capable of doing that. "But is Jane jealous?" I asked, formulating a plan in my head.

"She's never shown it. Maybe because she never had a reason to be," Daon admitted.

"But if she knew Louise was in love with you, maybe it would cause a fight," I said out loud, but part of me wanted that to happen. I wanted them to fight, to have a disagreement. Part of me wanted them to drift apart, so I could get closer to her.

"Well, she doesn't know that, and for now, I think it's best she doesn't find out," Daon said, apprehensive.

"Yeah. Well, I think I'll go home, take a shower, and get ready because Jane is going to teach me how to dance funk tonight," Simon said excitedly, and I ended up laughing.

"She said that by the end of the night, he'd be ready to get a Brazilian girl," Daon added, and I laughed again.

"Really?" I asked, pretending I didn't know anything about this even though I had overheard their conversation earlier.

"I'm going home too because I need to pick up my wife," Daon informed me cheerfully, and I rolled my eyes.

"Are you never going to get tired of that word?" I asked, irritated, and he smiled.

"Never!" He replied, smiling at Simon, and we left. Each of us got into our cars, and a little while later, I arrived home, greeted by my two dogs who immediately jumped on me. I sat on the floor, soaking in their affection, and thought that maybe it would be better to try to have something with Leeji, who was single. I took a shower and got ready, putting on a black shirt and leaving the top buttons open to be provocative, then headed to the address Daon had sent me.

When I arrived at the door, I saw that the place was crowded with beautiful women, all with perfect bodies and the kind of curves I liked. As I approached, I saw that everyone was already seated at a table with several drinks, indicating they had been there for a while. When I got closer, Leeji was the first to notice and come to me. She got up from the table and gave me a hug that was a bit more friendly than I was used to, since she was always very professional.

"Hi, boss!" Leeji greeted me excitedly.

The younger woman looked genuinely happy to see me, and I returned her greeting. When I looked at the table, I saw Jane's eyes on me.

"Hi there!" I replied to Leeji, but I couldn't take my eyes off Jane.

Leeji linked our arms, and we walked to the table where Jessi was already waiting for me with open arms.

"Look at you, all scratched up," Jessi commented, making me laugh as I hugged her tightly. I noticed Louise looking sad in a corner and gave her a hug because she was the only one who could understand me there.

"Are you okay?" I asked as I approached the woman with dark hair who was visibly tipsy.

"As well as I can be," she replied, downing a glass that was on the table.

"Sit here next to me," Leeji requested.

The table was large, and she was asking me to sit at the end of it. When I looked at who would be on my right side, I smiled. On one side, there would be Jane, and on the other, Leeji. I sat down and ordered a whiskey, greeted everyone, and Jane just waved at me because Daon had his arms around her. I couldn't help but notice how beautiful she looked in a black blazer over a dress of the same color but with sparkles. Her hair was down, and her full lips stood out because of the red lipstick she was wearing.

The conversation was relaxed, and the more empty glasses there were on the table, the more relaxed Leeji seemed to get. Jane was serious, her eyes fixed on the younger woman's hands delicately stroking my arm. Daon didn't take his eyes off Jane and always admired her with a lot of affection whenever she spoke. He kissed and caressed her face constantly. Louise was clearly uncomfortable, and since she and Leeji were best friends, they soon made an excuse to go to the bathroom, leaving for a while.

"So? Have you decided if you're going to take my advice?" Daon asked, curious.

I looked at Jane, and she seemed confused.

"I don't know. I don't think I can," I confessed, feeling defeated.

"Are you talking about the married woman thing?" Simon asked, curious, causing Jane's eyes to widen and almost spit out her drink.

"Married woman?" She asked, startled.

"Yes, Jayden is involved with a married woman, and I advised him to forget about it and invest in a relationship with Leeji," Daon explained, stroking Jane's face.

"I agree! There's no point in getting involved with a married woman, you don't need that," Simon commented, reinforcing his earlier advice.

"What do you think about this, Jane?" I asked, curious.

She stared at me with a fixed gaze, and I could see how nervous she was. Daon kissed her cheek, and she gave a weak smile.

"Come on, love. Give us your feminine perspective," Daon encouraged, and she looked around, seeming lost.

"Me?" She asked, surprised.

"Yes, women are more sensitive about these things," he insisted, and she sighed as if thinking about what to say.

"I think only you have the answer you need. There's no point in asking for advice from anyone. You have to follow your heart. What do you want to do?" She asked, and I could see the concern in her eyes. I wasn't imagining it, she wanted me as much as I wanted her. She wouldn't be able to stand seeing me with Leeji just as I couldn't bear seeing her with Daon.

"I want to be with her," I confessed, and she gave a small smile, lowering her gaze. When she looked up at me again, I lost my breath for a moment.

"But she was very clear when she said she didn't feel anything for me. So, I'll follow Daon's advice and invest in Leeji," I stated, determined.

Her expression turned sad, and I could see her eyes fill with tears.

"I hope you are happy with your choice," she said, trying unsuccessfully to hide her disappointment.

"Me too," I agreed, not breaking eye contact.

"Well, now that everything is decided, are you going to teach me to dance or not?" Simon asked, excited.

"Hey, did someone mention dancing?" Leeji asked, looking enthusiastic.

The girls had returned, and Jane's gaze was distant.

"If I'm going to dance, I need tequila," Jane declared, and Daon smiled.

"I'll get it for you!" Daon offered, and she agreed.

"Thanks, love. I'm going to the bathroom, I'll be right back," she said, getting up from the table, and I couldn't resist. I waited a bit to make it less obvious and, knowing the risk, followed her. I looked around, seeing everyone was too busy to notice, and stood outside the bathroom door. When she opened the door to leave, I stepped inside, closing the door behind me.

"What are you doing?" Jane asked, startled.

"Jane, I need to know from you. Do you feel anything for me?" I asked desperately.

She avoided my gaze, and we were so close that I couldn't resist touching her face, gently caressing it with my fingers.

"If you feel anything for me, tell me now! If you don't, I'll leave you alone and move on with Leeji," I demanded, needing an answer.
