Pain wakes me.

Sharp. Burning. Radiating from my left arm through my entire body like someone's driving hot knives into the muscle.

I try to move and immediately regret it.

"Fuck," I breathe out.

Everything's fuzzy. The room swims in and out of focus. White ceiling tiles. Beeping monitors. The antiseptic smell of the hospital.
