Amelia’s POV

My new desk faces the window, which means my back is to the door.

It's deliberate. Strategic. If I'm looking out at the city skyline, I can't accidentally see someone approaching. Can't spend all day jumping at shadows, wondering if the footsteps in the hallway belong to him.

"Amelia, can you review this investor pitch?" Luca Arden, my team lead, drops a folder on my desk. "We need a compelling narrative around the Westside development project."
