I opened the message and read: You ruined everything. If you hadn’t existed, Daniel and Lydia would still be together. All this chaos is on you.

I delete the message immediately, lie back on the bed, and squeeze my eyes shut.

Monday morning. I walk into Sterling Tower with two security guards flanking me.

Every employee stares. Whispers follow me down the hallway.

"Is that his ex-wife?"

"I heard she's the one who found the fraud."

"Why is she back?"
