The gossip article glows on my computer screen. 9 PM and I’m still staring at the same photo. Amelia and Nathan. Coffee shop. Hands touching across the table.

My fingers dig into the armrests, knuckles whitening. I lean forward, squinting at the image—their smiles, the casual intimacy. My jaw clenches so hard my teeth ache. I press my palms flat against the desk.
