As they made their way through the large mansion, Dave’s steps became heavier. His vision blurred, and his head felt heavy. The sharp focus he usually had was gone, replaced by a fog he couldn’t shake. Reese stayed by his side, slipping her arm around his waist to help him walk as he stumbled.

When they reached one of the guest rooms, Dave sat down at the end of the bed, but his body gave out almost instantly. He fell back, drained and helpless.
