My eyes opened slowly, although it was hard to tell if they were really open or not. I widened them, but they could not even catch the tiniest ray of light. I was in complete darkness.

My hands and feet ached, and when I tried to remove them, I discovered that they wouldn’t budge. Pulling them against each other, I discovered that I had been bound with thick cords.
