I returned to my room, and sat on my bed. My foot began to move restlessly, while my thumb stayed in my mouth. Despite being with Lucas, I hated the fact that I was still married to John, and was therefore stuck with him. If only there was a way to break free from him completely.

But then, even with my rage, I could still feel my heart thundering. What would have happened if he’d caught us? What would he say? What exactly would happen?
