Before Kate could respond, there was a soft knock at the door. “Come in,” I called, and one of my guards entered, bowing slightly.

“Your Majesty, the council requests your presence. They wish to discuss the next steps regarding the previous meeting.”

I nodded, standing. “Thank you. Tell them I’ll be there shortly.”
