After the last alpha had introduced himself, the atmosphere began to shift toward more casual interactions. I felt a wave of relief wash over me, grateful that the tension with Jack had subsided, even if just a little.

“Alpha Lucian,” I said, a hint of urgency creeping into my voice. “I need to use the bathroom. I’ll be right back.”
