I opened my eyes slowly when I realized that Lucian was not back. My body was still weak but I stood up worried about him.

Where could he be? The room was quiet, the soft glow of light filled the entire room. I pushed myself up, ignoring the slight dizziness that came over me, and swung my legs off the bed. I needed to find him.
