I watched from the observation room adjacent to the conference room where Lily sat under camera lights looking simultaneously terrified and determined.

Sarah Mitchell had positioned herself across from Lily with a notebook and gentle expression that I hoped meant she'd keep her promise to treat this interview with respect.
