The call came Friday afternoon while I was reviewing quarterly projections with James, and I almost ignored the unknown number until something made me answer.

"Alexander Thompson speaking."

"Mr. Thompson, this is Rachel Morrison from the Miami Herald. I'm calling to give you an opportunity to comment on a story we're running about Lily Rose and her qualifications to lead Thompson Enterprises."
