I sat in my office at seven AM Thursday morning reviewing security footage from the previous week because paranoia had become my default state since Victor filed his lawsuit.

The legal team said the lawsuit was baseless and would be dismissed within months but I knew Victor well enough to understand he never did anything without multiple backup plans.

The lawsuit wasn't the endgame, it was cover for something else he was planning.
