Alexander's POV

I couldn't leave things the way they'd ended Sunday morning, with Lily looking at me like I was a monster, so at eight PM I drove to her apartment.

She didn't answer when I knocked but I could see light under her door and hear movement inside.

"Lily, I know you're there. Please let me in so we can talk." I pressed my hand against the door. "I'm not leaving until you hear what I need to say."
