I couldn't sleep Thursday night after Alexander told me about Victor's three hundred page investigation report, so at two AM I sat in my apartment staring at my childhood photo album that I rarely opened.

The pictures were sparse because foster kids didn't have many people taking photos of milestones and happy moments.

But there were a few snapshots from various homes, and looking at my younger self's face I could see the trauma I'd spent years trying to forget.
