Monday morning I opened my email and found a message from an anonymous sender with the subject line "The Truth About Richard Thompson."

My stomach dropped as I read the contents.

"Miss Rose, you think you know who your father was. But Richard Thompson's business empire was built on illegal activities that will destroy you when exposed. I have proof of fraud, bribery, and worse. The truth will come out soon. You should prepare yourself."
