The week after Lily's successful exhibition opening I made a decision that terrified and excited me in equal measure.

I wanted to marry her.

Not someday in the distant future but soon because I knew with absolute certainty she was the person I wanted to spend my life with.

"I need your help." I told James over lunch. "I'm going to propose to Lily and I have no idea how to do it."

James nearly choked on his coffee.
