“Good morning, my love,” Lucas says when I finally open my eyes. The sun is shining in the room because we didn’t think to close the blinds last night. I blink my eyes, trying to adjust to the light. Lucas comes and stands in front of the window, blocking the bright sun for me. “I have another surprise for you,” Lucas says as he stands upright to button up his shirt. When he finishes, he reaches for me and hooks an arm under my legs then lifts me off the bed.
