Maya's POV

The alarms start screaming thirty minutes later. We're in the armory when the sound cuts through the air. Not the usual warning bells Seraphina's pack uses. This is different. Mechanical. Urgent. The kind of sound that makes your blood run cold.

"That's the perimeter breach alarm," Nathan says. He's zip-tied to a chair, courtesy of Kira's efficiency. Blood drips from his nose where she broke it. "You're too late."
