“Mae? Mae, sweetheart?” June cried out, moving quickly to be by Mae’s side.

Mae blinked her eyes open and realized she was still sitting in her chair, but she must have blacked out or momentarily fainted. Her grandmother was hovering over her now, looking desperately concerned. Mae still felt dizzy and unsure. Raveena’s dead face kept playing over and over again in her mind.
