Holly was still sleeping on the couch, but I had coffee brewing for us. I was on my laptop trying to figure out what had happened last night.

There were five people in that house last night. By the time Philips got there, there were only three.

These people obviously had their disappearing act mastered but knowing where they had disappeared from could narrow down the list of places they could reappear.
