DAMIEN 

I woke up to the soft warmth of Macey clinging to me like I was her lifeline.  

Her arms were wrapped around me in a way that made it impossible to move without waking her, and for a moment, I just let myself lie there, listening to the quiet hum of the morning.  

The sunlight hadn’t yet broken through the blinds, leaving the room in that golden, sleepy glow that somehow made everything feel softer, slower, like the world had paused just for us.
